Insurance

While many people pay for services independently, sessions may be covered by Employee Assistance Programs or private insurance if you have group benefits or are covered under a plan as a spouse or dependent.

You are encouraged to look into the specific details of your coverage with the following questions in mind:

Does my Employee Assistance Program cover Social Work services?

If yes, how many sessions are covered?

What is my maximal annual coverage amount?

What is the coverage amount/therapy session?

Does my group insurance benefits cover social work or psychotherapy services?

If yes, how many sessions are covered?

What is my maximal annual coverage amount?

What is the coverage amount/therapy session?

Do I need a requisition form from my doctor?

If you do not have private insurance or employee benefits to assist with financing therapy, or you have exhausted your annual benefits, please be aware that any out-of-pocket service fees paid here at TLC counselling can be included as medical expenses on your next income tax return for a FEDERAL TAX CREDIT.

This is because Registered Social Workers are recognized by, and listed as, medical practitioners in federal legislation.
